Hi Loner T, in my case I am not stuck at RealTek driver. It is getting installed successfully as it displays the successful installation screen. RealTek driver is shown in control pannel's programs as well. But still audio is not working. At the task bar volume icon is marked with red Cross and when I click it windows trouble shooter starts and says it got fixed, but even after that volume icon is having red mark and not working. I checked the driver used for audio in device manager, it was pointing to hdaudbus.sys in system32/drivers folder. I tried extracting RealTek setup and tried to change the audio driver used from device manager, but for each *.INF file, windows says it is not compatible with the system please check whether it is meant for 64-bit system. ?

This driver also works in 32-bit versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7, however there is a newer driver set where the Vista driver seems to be fixed. Windows XP driver 1.0.0.32 is not fixed, while 1.0.0.38 appears to fix audio playback but not recording. New drivers are available from Cirrus Logic.

Cirrus Audio Driver Windows 10 Macbook Pro

As per a thread on Apple Discussions (Very Poor Volume Output - Windows XP), Apple/Cirrus Logic appears to have shipped incorrectly-configured drivers for the MacBook Pro's audio device in Windows XP. Windows Vista uses a different driver and has its own independent set of problems.

The driver also attempts to correct recording issues (1.0.0.13b, Oct. 27). When recording, depending on the sample rate used, the driver has been observed to up-sample the received audio, returning 2x or 4x as much data as an application expects, leading to distorted audio. Version 1.0.0.13b corrects two instances of buffer overruns in the driver, resulting in most sample rates working correctly.

Modern Macbooks/iMacs are capable of running Windows 10/11 using BootCamp, however the drivers for the sound chip are not always installed along with a Windows Operating System. Cirrus Logic chips are the most common audio chips used in Macbooks, and depending on what the chip is you will need the correct driver of that chip as they are not all the same. The most common chips are CS4206 and CS4208. The drivers for CS4206 are on this page Cirrus Logic CS4206 Driver. Driver will also enable sound on 64bit versions of Windows back to Windows Vista.

I just installed Windows 8 on my MacBook Pro, I then installed the Windows Support drivers and everything works great except for one thing, the audio. It doesn't recognize the audio device in my Macbook.

One of the most frustrating part of installing windows 10 64 bits on the MacBook Pro Early 2011 is the sound driver problem. Unlike most of the MacBook Pro the bootcamp driver usually solved the sound easily but not this one.

The original sound driver for MacBook Pro Early 2011 is Cirrus Logic CS4206B (AB 28) which you can find it from the bootcamp or from cirrus logic website itself. But after it is installed nothing will happen. Only when the hacked is done to the DSDT file then the driver will magically appear.

This process worked to get audio going on my macbook pro mid 2012. I don't have the education required to understand what all happened but I'm grateful to have found these directions!!! Thank you very much!!

For anyone wondering about the audio issue, I found a reliable yet long fix. Basically Install Windows 7 (no need to activate it) then install the Windows 7 Bootcamp drivers from the bootcamp mac os app, then install Windows 10 on Windows 7 then install the Windows 10 drivers (you can get this from the bootcamp app). Your laptop will 100% function fine with no driver issues including audio.

Wow, a million thanks Brian. I have been trying to get audio working for days. I am on a 2010 MBP 15 inch. I have Windows 7 Premium x64. I tried reloading the bootcamp drivers from the OSX DVD, the two updates apple offers 3.1 and 3.2, and never could get audio working. Every other forum and website said to download the new Realtek drivers which did nothing.

Had the same problem with my 2006 Mac Mini. Confirmed that PCI Vendor and Product IDs are in fact SigmaTel (under Hardware Ids in the device details tab). Got Boot Camp 4.0.4131 support software and found the IDT SigmaTel driver installer. After reboot, audio worked. I've been so many years without audio in Windows and am so happy to finally have it working. Thanks to all who contributed answers.

I have the mac mini 1.1 with this configuration.Intel Core Duo @ 1.73 GHz. 2 GB RAM, and 120 GB HDD. running Mac Os Snowleopard 10.6.8. when I installed Windows via Bootcamp, I found that Windows didnt recognize my real audio device and because of that I got no sound even when it says that the audio codecs are installed and working properly. so the best way to find out what is audio device was, is running an id device software. I used Everest and it found that de audio device was a Sigmatel Audio Devices specifically SigmaTel STAC9220 A1. so I google up for the drivers and boilaa! it worked!I hope this may be helpful to someone else! ;)

macxpress said: Thats what you get for using Windows....*Waits for all the dislikes*Aren't bootcamp drivers provided by Apple? Sounds to me like this is one of those cases where Apple didn't do due their diligence because of disinterest in thoroughly testing something they don't care about. My one attempt to use Bootcamp on a MacBook Pro was thwarted by bad trackpad drivers. That was on Apple because it's their custom trackpad. The audio chipset might be standard PC hardware but it's still up to Apple to make sure the drivers work correctly with their hardware.

The built-in Microsoft Windows Update service may not update your drivers properly. Instead, use The Sound / Audio Driver Update Utility for Cirrus Logic. It is intelligent software that automatically recognizes your computer's operating system and sound / audio manufacturer and model to find the most up-to-date drivers for it. There is no risk of installing the wrong driver. The Sound / Audio Driver Update Utility downloads and installs your drivers quickly and easily.

To find the latest driver, including Windows 11 drivers, choose from our list of most popular Cirrus Logic Sound / Audio downloads or search our driver archive for the driver that fits your specific Cirrus Logic sound / audio model and your PC's operating system.

To get more features: Sometimes, newer audio driver packages give you extra features. They might enable new sound effects or give you more control over your speakers, such as adding levels for rear audio speakers.

This download provides the Realtek* High Definition Audio Driver for the 3.5mm audio jack on Intel NUC Kit. This audio driver is required if you plan to connect a microphone or headset to the audio jack.

1. An acceptable intensity switch setting of the recordingequipment was sought by (a) shifting the microphone gain of the sound carddevice driver interface to its maximum position, (b) decreasing the gain (orinput level) of the external amplifier so that the loudest [a:] productionswere not clipped, and (c) increasing the input level of the externalamplifier so that the softest [a:] sounds were still recorded and could beadequately differentiated from background noise. All following sounds wererecorded without any additional adjustments of the switches in the computerconfiguration software and on the external sound card/amplifier. Becausethese settings may shift over time (e.g., involuntarily due to childrenplaying with them and use of equipment for other purposes) and to enablerestoration of the calibration settings when this occurs, participants wereadvised to save a printscreen of the computer's audio settings windowand to mark accurately the position of the external controller with a smallsticker or a painted dot. 2ff7e9595c
